16 cm lid sold alone and suitable for the 16 cm stainless steel Merveilleuse saucepan.

Main features:
- Material: nickel-free stainless steel*

- Heat and energy conservation: Retains heat, thus reducing cooking time and limiting energy consumption.
- Preservation of flavors and moisture: Preserves food moisture and intensifies flavors by trapping aromas inside.
- Safety: Reduces the risk of overflow, thanks to its steam evacuation system.

Use:
- In the oven: The lid can be used in the oven up to a maximum temperature of 220°C. Make sure the outer surface is clean before baking to avoid staining the paint.

- Handling: Use oven mitts or insulating gloves to handle the lid after prolonged use or when removing from the oven.

- General precautions: Never leave the lid on a direct heat source without the pan, and avoid shocks that could damage it.

 

Caution: Stainless steel conducts heat; always use hand protection such as oven mitts or kitchen gloves to handle your Merveilleuse when hot.

*No added nickel. Traces of nickel measured in the food-contact layer are less than 0.16%.

Tips for caring for your stainless steel cookware

Before cooking

  • Wash your utensil by hand with hot, soapy water.
  • Dry it with a soft cloth. The bottom of the pan must be completely dry before cooking.

During cooking

  • Preheat over medium heat for 2 minutes; never heat beyond ⅔ of your heat source's capacity.
  • Pour a few drops of water into the hot pan: if they sizzle and slide, the temperature is ideal.
  • Slightly reduce the heat and add a little fat before cooking if needed.
  • Do not turn food too early: wait for the first crust to form so that the food naturally releases from the pan.
  • Use appropriate handles and protect your hands with pot holders or oven mitts.

After cooking

  • While the utensil is still hot, deglaze with a glass of water to remove grease.
  • Prioritize daily hand cleaning and dry your utensil immediately.
  • Use protective felt pads when storing your utensils to prevent scratches.
