Care and Use Instructions
For healthy, homemade cooking thanks to the PFAS-free* mineral non-stick coating
BEFORE COOKING
- Wash before first use: clean your pan by hand with hot water and dish soap.
- Dry thoroughly: wipe with a soft, non-abrasive cloth. The bottom of the pan must be completely dry before being placed on a hob.
- No need to season: the coating is naturally non-stick. A small amount of oil or butter is enough when cooking.
- Gentle preheating: heat the pan over low or medium heat for 60 to 90 seconds before adding fat. Never leave an empty pan heating over high heat.
DURING COOKING
- Cook over low or medium heat: Cookut utensils are designed to quickly diffuse even heat. Cook over low or medium heat to avoid damaging the coating. Never leave an empty pan heating and avoid cooking over high heat.
- Little fat: 1 to 2 tablespoons of oil or butter are enough for effective cooking.
- No sprays: avoid spray or aerosol oils which damage the non-stick surface. Also avoid overheating extra virgin oils (intended for seasoning rather than cooking): beyond their smoke point, from 160°C to 190°C, they begin to carbonize. Carbonization of oil can form a tenacious black crust, difficult to clean, which, in the long term, risks altering the natural coating and reducing its non-stick properties.
- Suitable utensils: prefer wooden, silicone or plastic utensils. Avoid metal objects and never cut directly in the pan.
- Gentle handling: place and remove the pan without sliding it on the hob to protect its base.
AFTER COOKING
- Complete cooling: let the pan cool before rinsing it with cold water to avoid thermal shock.
- Hand washing recommended: even if it can go in the dishwasher (excluding removable handles), prefer hand cleaning with a soft sponge and soapy water.
- Deep cleaning: use white vinegar, let it act for a few minutes then rub with a soft sponge. If stains persist, add a teaspoon of baking soda and use a vegetable fiber dish scrubber.
- Remove without forcing: if food sticks, heat a little soapy water or white vinegar over low heat in the pan (without letting it evaporate), then gently rub with a non-abrasive sponge.
TO PROLONG THE LIFE OF YOUR COATING
- Never overheat: excessive heat damages the coating and carbonizes fats. Avoid oil smoking or burning.
- Use suitable fats: prefer oils or butter suitable for cooking. Avoid spray oils and extra virgin oils which can damage the coating.
- Careful storage: do not store the pan in contact with sharp objects. Use pan protectors if possible.
- Avoid the dishwasher: salt and aggressive detergents degrade the non-stick properties of the coating.
